Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Looking back at creating my prelim task I alot, this is in terms of planning, creating, filming and editing. it also gave me a deep insight in what goes on behind closed doors when producing a film. For example, using narrative theories, showing charcaterisation, camera techniques and props. It also helped me evolve my basic editing techniques to help make my film run smoother and more suffiencent. However there isnt much editing invovled in the prelim, therefore when it came to my real thing I developed many more skills and techniques, such as cuts, dissolves, showing action and enigma codes, colour and distortion. I also learnt how to use camera angles to convey a meaning behind the narrative and to help set the narrative more clearly. Mise En Scene is not used as heavily in my prelim as it is in my final product. In my final product my characters have ajusted their clothing to fit in with the characteristic features of the person and to help personalise them into their specified social groups. Facial Expressions and actions have been used in my prelim for example: Angry face when shouting, hand movements, however they have been involved more in my final product for example: when 'Ronnie' is getting arreseted he looks restless and uncomfortable. In my prelim I do not incldue any sound tracks or sound effects, however in my final product i use sound effects to enhance tension and natural sounds to make it feel more realistic. I also added background music to increase nerves and tension within the audience. I both my prelim and my final project i have used diegetic dialogue to create feelings and emotions within the characters to enahnce the realism.creating my prelim has helped me with my continuity errors withing my final product and taught me how important it is to have continuity throughout my whole film to make it more effective.  To conclude, I have expanded my knowledge within the creeative side of developing a film, also in filming and using the editing sofware. I have also learnt how to convey meaning through the four technical codes and editing, to make my film look more proffesional.
